Thunderstorms, intense spells of rain likely in remaining districts

With light to moderate rain being witnessed in various parts of the State on Sunday, the start of the week is likely to bring heavy rain in some parts of Uttarakhand. The State Meteorological Centre has issued an orange warning (be prepared to take action) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Nainital, Champawat and Bageshwar districts today.
The centre has also issued a yellow warning (be aware) regarding the possibility of heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of Uttarakhand. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are also likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of the State on Monday. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in all districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, of which one or two may be intense/heavy. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 31 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was reported in various parts of the State on Sunday with 31.5 millimetres in Lansdowne, 25.6 millimetres in Dehradun, 22 millimetres in Jageshwar, 15.5 millimetres in Nainital, 14.5 millimetres in Kashipur, nine millimetres in Jauljibi and 4.3 millimetres in Mussoorie.
