U’khand secures 103 medals in 38th National Games

Uttarakhand secured a total of 103 medals at the 38th National Games held inbthe State from January 28 to February 14. Officials stated that Uttarakhand’s performance this year was remarkable compared to past years. The athletes achieved commendable results across various sports, winning a total of 103 medals including 24 gold, 35 silver and 44 bronzeAt the 38th National Games, Uttarakhand showcased its sporting talent, making a significant impact nationwide. The State, which finished 25th in the 37th National Games in Goa, leaped to seventh place this year. The officials said that this achievement is not only a result of the hard work and dedication of the athletes but also a testament to the efforts made by the state government to develop sports in Uttarakhand.

The State government has significantly enhanced sports facilities by constructing modern, international-level infrastructure, organising high-level training camps, and improving coaching systems. Providing a wide range of facilities to athletes has contributed to Uttarakhand’s exceptional performance in various sports, capturing the attention of the entire nation.

The state’s athletes have achieved individual milestones and excelled in team sports as well. Uttarakhand demonstrated its strength in football, handball, netball, and kabaddi, proving its potential in both individual and team events, they added.
