A record 51 pet registrations were carried out in a single day at a dog registration camp organised by the Devbhoomi Pet Welfare Association in coordination with Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD). Officials said that the pet registrations resulted in a record revenue generation of Rs 25,500 in a single day in the camp held at Chandrabani Chowk.
The camp was a success in terms of pet registration, pet dogs vaccination and also educating the public about the rules as per the policies to be followed in the interests of society so as to minimise the issues faced by the public and pet owners due to the pets. The pet owners were requested to follow a generous outreach while taking their pets to public places and follow all rules of cleanliness and hygiene along with safety of all.
Municipal commissioner Namami Bansal has directed the veterinary division of MCD to speed up registration of pets in the city, organise and actively participate in camps regularly.
Senior municipal veterinary officer Dr Varun Agrawal said that the corporation’s veterinary division is committed to implement the orders issued by the commissioner and mayor Saurabh Thapliyal. The corporation is working to minimise conflicts between pet owners and the public caused by pets, he said.
