Political and administrative activities have intensified in Uttarakhand a day ahead of the Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s Haridwar visit. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami arrived in Haridwar and conducted an inspection of the event venue at Bairagi Camp and reviewed preparations in detail with officials on Friday.

He stated that a special exhibition would be held at the venue to mark the completion of four years of the current government. “This exhibition will showcase the development work undertaken in the State over the past four years and the State government’s major achievements. It will also provide information about the provisions of the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) and Bharatiya Naya Sanhita to the people to help them better understand them,” he added.

Notably, Shah will hand over citizenship certificates to five people under CAA. Once they receive these certificates they will officially become citizens of India.

Meanwhile, security has been beefed up across the district in view of the high-profile visit. The CM, along with senior officials, conducted thorough inspection of security, protocol, traffic arrangements and public gathering preparations for the event to be held at Bairagi Camp.  A senior district administration officer said that they are taking no chance as far as security for the VVIP visit is concerned. “Fool-proof security arrangements have been made and we are alert,” he added.
