23rd convocation concludes at UPES

The 23rd convocation of UPES, which capped a five-day celebration that began on November 9, concluded at the university premises on Thursday. The multi-day format ensured focused recognition of each discipline and reinforced UPES’s commitment to student success, research excellence and industry collaboration.
The 2025 edition emphasised scholarship, employability and innovation while welcoming leaders from various fields, including industry, design, technology, energy, media and law.
During this five-day celebration, UPES hosted leaders from the Supreme Court of India, the India International Arbitration Centre, Khaitan & Co, Micron India, ONGC, CRISIL, Schlumberger (SLB), the Physical Research Laboratory/ISRO, Democracy News Live and many others. Additionally, UPES invited distinguished socio-political figures and conferred honorary doctorates to CEO of Patanjali Ayurved Acharya Balkrishna and the president of the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) Sunil Sethi.
Speaking during the occasion, vice chancellor of UPES, Ram Sharma said, “This is not just an occasion to receive a degree, but a celebration of the students’ hard work, determination and progressive vision.” He added, “As we wrap up convocation 2025, we celebrate a graduating class that has gone above and beyond their curriculum. They have learned to combine their deep knowledge with a clear moral compass—creating solutions, collaborating across disciplines and remaining anchored in their values. Their journey has been supported by the university’s strong industry connections and a culture of relentless discovery.” He expressed confidence that these students will shape the future with innovation, integrity and leadership.
Notably, during Convocation, UPES honoured 107 awardees, comprising 13 gold medals, 71 silver medals and 23 letters of appreciation. Additionally, 10 silver medals were awarded to meritorious students from UPES Online. The president’s gold medal was awarded to Maitreyee Dubey from the School of Law for her BA, LLB (Hons). School silver medals were given to Shashank Dhyani (School of Advanced Engineering, MTech in Health, Safety & Environment Engineering), Aashi Jain (School of Business, MBA in Business Analytics) and many others.
