The STEM Jigyasha Kaksh is proving to be a transformative initiative redefining access to future-ready learning in the remote hill regions of Uttarakhand, where geography has long shaped the limits of education, said the director general, Uttarakhand State Council for Science and Technology (UCOST), Prof Durgesh Pant. “It is bringing cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, drones and 3D printing directly into classrooms, impacting over 40,000 students across the State,” he added.

Notably, launched under the broader vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, the initiative has been conceptualised to bridge the gap between traditional education and emerging technological skills. Spearheaded with the support of the state leadership and scientific institutions, the programme reflects a strong commitment to democratising STEM education, regardless of location.

In its first phase, STEM Jigyasha Kaksh has established innovation-focused learning spaces in 95 schools across 13 districts of Uttarakhand. These dedicated STEM labs are equipped with modern tools and supported by trained educators and expert trainers who guide students throughout the academic year. “The programme emphasises experiential learning, allowing students to engage directly with technologies that are shaping global industries. For many participants, this marks their first interaction with advanced tools and concepts that were once limited to urban institutions,” Pant further said.

It aligns education with the demands of a rapidly evolving global economy, empowering youth with competencies essential for the 21st century, said the founder & CEO of STEMbotix, Sagar Sojitra.  “The vision has always been simple, to ensure that students, no matter how remote their schools are, have access to meaningful STEM education,” he added.
