The officers of Indian Administrative Services (IAS) posted in Uttarakhand will donate their one-day salary to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund to support people affected in Uttarkashi’s Dharali flash flood. The decision was taken during a meeting of the Uttarakhand IAS Association held on Thursday under the chairmanship of association’s president LA Fanai. The meeting discussed the natural disaster that struck Dharali on August 5 and its impact on the region. The association decided that officers will voluntarily contribute their one-day salary to aid the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts. According to the association’s secretary Dileep Jawalkar, this step reflects a sense of administrative duty and collective responsibility. He also acknowledged the continuous work being carried out by officials, security forces, medical teams and volunteers engaged in rescue and rehabilitation operations across affected areas. He stated that the association’s contribution aims to support the State government’s response mechanism and help accelerate relief and recovery in the disaster-hit region. All members have been urged to participate actively and provide full cooperation with sensitivity and accountability. Jawalkar, emphasised that the involvement of officers, employees and citizens plays an important role during such emergencies and that compassionate public service must remain the top priority.
