Setting a precedent for all officers and employees of the departments he heads, the additional secretary to the chief minister, director general of Information and vice- chairman of Mussoorie-Dehradun Development Authority, Banshidhar Tiwari rode a bicycle to the Directorate Information on Ring Road from his residence on Sahastradhara Road on Saturday morning. Notably, this Saturday is the first ‘No Vehicle Day’ in the State announced following the direction of the chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami. This followed the Prime Minister’s responsible energy use appeal amid the energy uncertainty caused by the deepening West Asia crisis.
Tiwari appealed to all officers and employees to commute to work in public transport or by riding cycle and also to opt for car- pooling to conserve fuel.
